Recommended Resource: Agricultural Marketing Resource Center (Facts about Ag Products)
Lately, we’ve been gracefully bombarding you with recommendations for a variety of resources. These resources, we hope, will give you an opportunity to learn more about the wide world of agriculture. Last time, we recommended a brief Exhibit Farm video that covers some facts about cows. In January, we looked at a series of videos that delve into the question of GMOs. Before that, we previewed a short video covering some GMO facts. This time, we have a site that can give you all the facts you’ll ever want about your favorite ag products.

Earlier this week, we gave you the low-down on U.S. corn. That blog post featured a number of interesting facts about the crop and its place in the nation’s industry. Just to be clear, facts and numbers like that don’t come out of thin air. Thanks to the Internet, every one of us has boatloads of information at our fingertips, and that includes information about agriculture.
Probably one of the best places to go on the Internet for thorough and digestible facts about ag products is the Agricultural Marketing Resource Center. There, they’ve got a page dedicated solely to information about the various commodities and products in the country. Using the links in the left sidebar, you can easily navigate from one type of crop to another. Read up on your favorite fruits and vegetables, or take the time to learn a little bit about livestock or the less-renowned branches of agriculture. The individual pages will tell you about the origins of that product. It’ll also cover topics such as what countries and states produce the most as well as other production stats. You might also learn some nutritional facts about your favorite foods.
So why don’t you start browsing! Begin by fact checking our corny cornhole fun facts or by researching an unusual fruit. Like a Quince for example. Never heard of it? Well, get reading! Here’s a link to the Quince page.
