Managing fertilization of crops is a highly detailed process, requiring care and specificity. But the 4R Principles offer a framework to help people grasp the big picture of nutrient stewardship. The 4Rs summarize the thought process farmers go through to make sure they’re using fertilizer in the most efficient and environmentally-friendly way possible.
Our clients at AgroLiquid manufacture fertilizers, and they believe strongly in supporting farmers’ efforts to continually increase their sustainability — including through fertilizer management. Naturally, the 4R Principles are one of the main topics AgroLiquid wanted to highlight in its farming museum, the IQhub.
This cylindrical 4R Principles display in the IQhub provides both an explanation and an illustration of the 4Rs. The display is divided into four sides, and each side focuses on a different principle. The 4R Principles of crop fertilization are: right source, right rate, right time, and right place.
Three-dimensional elements related to each principle sit in the different segments of the display. For example, the “right rate” section features a piece of fertilizer spraying machinery. Visitors can learn the concepts behind each principle through information provided by the TV monitors and text-based signs.
