Growing plants is a complicated, science-filled process. But the plant growth kiosk in AgroLiquid’s IQhub museum teaches kids how plants grow in a simple way. It introduces them to the very basics of some of the complex processes involved.
This interactive display is a three-sided kiosk with monitors, graphics, and buttons. Each side is dedicated to one of the three primary drivers of plant growth: seeds, rain, and sun.
Each side also has a different hands-on element. Kids can flip a switch, turn a crank, or push a button. Providing a variety of tactile parts makes the display even more engaging, and more appealing to young kids. We mounted all hands-on elements low enough on the kiosk for even the littlest kids to interact with.
Animation plays on the monitors in response to kids flipping the switch, turning the crank, or pushing the button. Each animation shows a step in the growth of a healthy plant. The first shows the process of fertilizing a seed. The next side shows rain falling on a seed, and the last shows how the sun’s light causes the seed to grow.
