When people think of careers in agriculture, they tend to think only of farming or ranching. Careers like insurance adjustor, surveyor, or florist rarely come to mind. Similar to a display we made for Genesee County Farm Bureau, these signs explore the variety of career opportunities in agriculture.
One strategy for helping meet demand for workers in the agriculture field involves raising awareness of how many kinds of ag-related jobs are out there. This display follows that strategy by including no less than 60 different jobs (ten apiece for six categories). Each entry includes a brief description of the career and how it relates to ag.
As part of Macomb County Farm Bureau’s exhibit trailer, this display can travel to many urban and suburban communities, helping people who might not otherwise consider careers in agriculture to learn about the opportunities available to them.
